Scarred was some type of student film that got a grant, a budget, and a theatrical release. The director, Rose-Marie Turko, didn't do much else after this. Scarred follows the life of Ruby the teenage prostitute as she turns tricks, visits her kid, tries porno, gets beat up, gets evicted, tires to be a lesbian, and enroll in art school. The subject matter is here for a good ....

SCARRED (1983)
SILENT SCREAM (1980)
Perky Scotty is late for college sign-up and desperately needs a place to live. Naturally she settles on the large creepy old house with the awkward and creepy son who does all the work for his awkward and creepy mother who never comes out of her room. Then a bunch of people get murdered. Considering the year it was made (1980) and the lack of gore or ....
THE CAMPUS CORPSE (1977)
Guy pledges to fraternity and stuff happens. Originally released as The Hazing in 1977, t did piss-poor and instead of acknowledging the movie was a little lost, they remarketed it as a semi-comedy titled Here Come the Delts to try to compete with Animal House. After it failed again it was re-released in 1981 as The Curious Case of the Campus Corpse. Clearly this film is so confused about ....
CHERRY HILL HIGH (1977)
Cherry Hill High follows five high school girls and their teacher on a two-week bike ride/camping trip thing. Never mind the fact not one fucking person has on a backpack. These five girls all commit to lose their virginity on the bike trip. Sex, ridiculous dialogue, boobs, bad acting, blah, blah, blah. No-budget sex comedy that isn't as terrible as a Troma film, but not great either. ....
NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER (1986)
Conceived as a "higher stakes" Karate Kid rip-off, No Retreat, No Surrender treads the fine line of being too unrealistic for adults, and too confusing for children. The resulting product is fucking hilarious. Russian fighters, Karate, break-dancing, Fat Kid, synthesizers, three fucking montage training sequences, bad romantic subplot, 437 guitar licks, and one stock 80s motivational rock theme song, plus Jean-Claude Van Damme. What the fuck else do ....
BREAKING AWAY (1979)
Breaking Away is the model that a lot of those triumphant "friends winning contests" movies of the 80s were based on made before such stories had a cookie-cutter formula. 4 small town friends compete and win a college bicycle race. Features a young Dennis Quaid, Daniel Stern and Jackie Haley. Although ultimately it leads to a predictable ending, the road that gets us there is genuinely sincere with good characters, ....
SMOOTH TALK (1985)
Odd attempt at a 1980s update of/homage to Badlands starring Laura Dern and Treat Williams. Based on a much less watered down play, the 80s production values render much of the script useless. In fact, the ending of the play is totally changed thereby shitting all over the moral of the original story. I'm not sure why but I don't find Laura Dern attractive at all mix ....
CRUISIN’ HIGH / CAT MURKIL & THE SILKS (1976)
Super fucking awesome mid-70s gang exploitation film that was marketed under a few different titles. Lots of fucking awesome scene with tons of chicks and dudes cruising each other in fucking awesome 70s cars. Gang members do things like steal car radios, beer, chips, and cigarettes, and go to a flophouse for a "party." I can't say enough good stuff about this flick. Seriously great and pretty over the ....
